The short version: The Squeasel collects nothing. Your images, your settings, and everything you do in the app stay on your Mac.
The app
- The app does not connect to the internet. It has no account, sign-in, analytics, crash reporting, or telemetry.
- Your original images are never changed or moved. The app writes new files, by default into a folder named
squeaselnext to the originals. - The app saves your recipes and settings in a file on your Mac so they are there next time you open it. That file never leaves your computer.
- To open HEIC photos, the app asks macOS to make a temporary copy on your Mac and deletes it when it is done.
This website
- This site does not use cookies, analytics, advertising, or tracking scripts, and it loads no fonts or code from other companies.
- Like any website, the company that hosts it may keep ordinary server logs (such as IP address and the pages requested) for security and reliability. Bitclone does not use these logs to track you.
Downloads and other sites
The download button takes you to GitHub, where the app and its source code are published. GitHub has its own privacy policy that applies when you visit it. Any other links on this site, such as support or donation pages, go to services with their own policies.
